Two weeks until school starts. I am planning on enjoying every bite, lick, snuggle, book, lazy day, midday movie, snow cone, swim, and spur of the moment road trip I can fit in.

{this is what our mornings look like}
Yep, it isn't always pretty around here.
I'm running a close second.
Or, I may be in the lead on this particular morning.
My motto today: "I think I can, I think I can"......
I am way past ready to start enjoying summer!!!!

{summer daze}
On the way to school this morning, they plotted their
summer menu....it is to include.....
LOTS of cupcakes
LOTS of snow cones
homemade ice cream
my chocolate chip cookies
cucumbers
LOTS of dinners on the patio
popcicles
canned pickles {that would be E only}
salads {again, E}
bakery cookies {the decorated variety}
popcorn at the movies {this would also entail the drive-in}
the countdown is on. {mostly for E on that one too!}

{getting ready}
I've purchased all of the seeds for spring.
I think.
I'm going to start some of them inside over the next few weeks.
Although, I love snow.
I'm looking forward to the carefree, simple days of summer.
In a big way.

{savoring}
these last days before school starts.
The house is a wreck. But, that's okay.
I am allowing a marathon afternoon of Wii. That's okay too.
I have a mountain of laundry. It will get done. Eventually.
We still have no central air, but, camping in the living room with a wall unit....well, it's working. We just pretty much stay out of the other rooms.
The boys had a great time with friends last night and friends today. A great bunch of boys! & I adore their moms!
I want to do as little as I can from now until Thursday.
Well, that's after my birthday party tomorrow.....I have quite the day planned. ;)

{evan's birthday party!}
Of course, I loaded these in reverse order.
But, who wouldn't want cake first?? And, I used those trick candles I mentioned earlier.....so fun! As you can see, he didn't give up too easily!
He huffed and puffed and huffed and puffed some more......

It totally cracked me up!

The cake was half the size it was suppose to be....thus a mad dash across town for 30 cupcakes. Of course, we had WAY too much cake!
But, pretty cute nonetheless...
He had alot of sweet friends there to celebrate.....we missed those who could not make it!

I failed to take any pictures of the swimming little fish! {& I'm missing little Olivia in the pictures, I think she was over at the slide pretty much the whole time}. The kids stayed cool and despite the horrid heat we've been having the adults fared pretty well except for about 30 minutes in between the shade and breeze leaving and a nice little shower that moved through. Really, that part couldn't have been much better!
Thanks to everyone for making his day so special! He loved it!
{who would have thunk it?}
Shoes?
Obviously my boys have been living it up this summer in flip-flops and bare feet to the point they {one in particular} are in tears as we are trying on shoes to see if we have any we can wear from the end of last year.
Tears?
Grumpy faces?
They are too tight. They are too big.
They don't feel right.
Even feet have to get ready to go back to school.

{summer in arkansas}
With NO air conditioning.
Is not at all pleasant.
Lord have mercy.
And, I mean that literally!
Mr. Repairman get here quick.
I pray it can be fixed on the spot.

{pretending}
Well, Cinnamon Cider hit the shelves.
I grabbed some.
I am burning them now.
Pretending it is not 108 degrees out there.
I'm not even thinking what the heat index may be.
Session tonight.
Praying for a cool front around 6:45 pm.

{snippets}
*we are missing the girls. E is still talking about G nonstop. and, when i say nonstop - that's no exaggeration. he is a very sad little guy. and, i'm so sad that i didn't get to see A more than I did. :(
*20 minutes late to church this morning. a) unexpected visitor at 8 am threw me off a tad b) monsoon of a rainstorm hit as we were about to load - had to search for an umbrella as they were all in my vehicles. imagine that? but, was so glad we went even though we did make such a late entrance.
*i mark an item off my to-do list and have to add 2 to it?
*the house is quiet. ahhhh........ no television, no radio, no sounds from molly.....i can't even describe how great it sounds.
*i'm denying the fact we are on the downhill slide toward school starting. la-la-la-la...i'm not thinking about it.
have to get off here, MUST get back to the list.

{on your mark, get set, go!}
Getting this 2.something page to do list completed {with more be added as it comes to my mind}
will determine if we get to do this next week.
It is several weeks earlier than planned, but Scott got a wild idea yesterday. As he often does, I might add.

It is several weeks earlier than planned, but Scott got a wild idea yesterday. As he often does, I might add. The bonus: there are several precious families going next week and I am envisioning loads of sweet beach pictures.
There is no better backdrop.
I would be in paradise more than you could even know.
Plus, I have two boys who are pretty much already packing.
And, that list - that is not counting the normal stuff - 2 MD appts, 3 sessions and a wedding in Joplin Saturday night!
IF I accomplish all of that {it is all necessary stuff, nothing that wasn't a "have-to" was not added} then I plan to do nothing and take pictures.
Perfect!

{shakespeare live}
they say that...."parting is such sweet sorrow."
Well, it was sorrowful BUT so stinkin' cute it was sweet.
Fulfillment of that particular oxymoron: check.
This is what we dreaded. The separation of these two. They were dancing when I came in to break the news to them that it was time to pack up.
They stopped long enough for this.
Notice his guitar pj's - he played that instrument on the front like a rock star!

Then they went back to dancing.....

The girl has some moves! Adriana, does she get them from you my dear??

the hair........
This is where I had to end it. It was not what they wanted to hear. Broke my heart!
And, she demonstrated just how much she did not want to hear those words.
Molly was at a loss.

He put a happy face on her.
I wasn't saying a word through this, just snapping. He leaned over here and whispered how much he was going to really miss her. She told him she would miss him too. Heart shattered at this point.
