{BIRTHDAY WEEK}

I'm just a tad excited, ha!

I have no qualms whatsoever about turning 40.
Just very happy to be doing it! :)

In celebration of the week....here is the lotion

I'm using....seemed very appropriate.
I'm sure that will not surprise anyone.

And, yes, notice my to do list the lotion is sitting on?
I'm a bit OCD in the fact that I do type my daily list.

I just noticed I have chicken feed on my face.  I thought I had
dusted that earlier incident of the day off.  Apparently not!

{molly-girl}

I am not certain if she is desperately missing her boys or recooping from a summer with her boys.

{smile}

{it arrived}

despite me not wanting it to.

The first day of school.

Although I am really sad in so many ways, in other ways I'm
excited for the boys and happy to be back in more of a routine.
My laid back summer plans went awry in so many ways.

So, this feels in an odd way like a fresh start.

And..............could I be late on this first day back to school?

Well, yes, I could.

But, I wasn't.

Whew!  Although it came fairly close once I discovered that
the boys had drank all of their lunch box drinks over the weekend and
no one thought to inform me.   Not a great way to start the day; a mad dash
to the little corner gas station.

There are several things I want to note in the following pictures.

#1 - notice, no dressy shirts/clothes.   I have let them be
more independent this year in picking out their school clothes.
No collared polo.  That may only happen on Sundays now.
And, of course, the athletic clothes are hitting Evan much quicker
than they did Noah as Evan is quickly following suit.

#2 - notice, no smiles.  I guess that is because they are boys?
I'm really not sure on that one.

#3 - notice, Evan's stance.  Standing on the outside of his feet.
He has always done that?????  Again, not sure????

#4 - notice {and this one is for me} how BIG they both are??  I didn't make note of it while I was taking the pictures.  It may have been because I was blinded by the shocking colors of their shoes.  They picked those as well.  But, when I opened the file I loaded.......it hit me hard.  They are getting so big.

#5 - notice, smiles.  Because I asked. ;)

#6 - notice, the toothpaste on the face.  We worked on that all the way to Greenwood.

#6 - notice, I am pretty sure this little man was a bald headed baby with the biggest blue eyes I had ever seen like three weeks ago.  Okay, maybe four.

#7 - notice, the toothpaste on the shirt. ;)

Welcome First and Fifth Grade!

I look forward to all that you will learn, how you will both
grow and making this the best year ever!

xoxoxo!

{it's official}

this sweet thing is ours.

Happy Anniversary, Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas & Happy Valentines+ to me!!

{maybe, maybe not}

gee....who would have thought this puppy stuff would be so complicated?

our new addition will probably end up being a tri.....
this little girl to be exact.

Pretty darn cute, huh?

I should have the final decision in a day or two.

{see ya!}

i am not planning on being back until school starts.
i.want.to.soak.up.every.minute.

i have alot of updates, early summer pics I still haven't posted.
so, i'll work on those when i get back.

boys are well.  i think they are ready to get back to school
in some ways, but, not in others. they both got amazing
teachers, so happy about that!

we were suppose to be gone this weekend, but, i'm working instead.
hope have some local outings starting monday after i drop a file off as
well as molly and kit kat.  yes, we got the kitten.  pictures definitely coming
there.  she is the sweetest thing ever and she and molly have finally made nice.
i was worried the first 24 hours.  but now, molly treats her like a baby and
will probably need to be treated for hair balls and she licks her so much.

i am sick.  and, soooooo do not need to be sick. but, i think my
medication is the worst part.  i needed a super-productive weekend.
and, so far, not so good.   if i can just keep the med down, i think i will be good.

and, just for the record.....it is hot, hot, hot.  like no one else knows that! ha!
  we were going to see sara evans tonight but because i am not suppose to be in the sun because of my antibiotic and because i am likely dehydrated once again,
we opted to skip out after a little "family meeting."  i don't think
the boys could have driven us home tonight.  so, we are sticking
to the air conditioner in hopes i feel better very soon!

this evening evan asked for sauteed fresh spinach {no lie!} and
also asked for a math game that was being advertised on television
in his words "for smarts."  gotta love him!

noah got a sweet, sweet letter from our birth mom today.  it
made him very happy.  his grin from was ear to ear.  makes my
heart smile that much too!!!

Tomorrow is our 18th wedding anniversary and Scott's 39th birthday.
Evan turns SEVEN on Tuesday.  {we are waiting until in cools down for
his birthday party as he wants an army one here at the farm},  and then
there is school starting and my birthday WEEK.   I'm going to have to
starve myself between now and then, because you guessed it.....

i'm planning on lots and lots of cake! :)

okay, that was our quick "catch-up"....hoping for a productive night!

{o' happy day!}

{it is pink, see addendum below}

we have our first {golden} egg!!

not sure which chick gets the credit though.

and, our nest boxes are still not finished as i thought we
were at least a month or two away.  i barely spied it in
the corner of the coop.

it's pretty tiny.  i hope they get bigger as they go.  or
else it may take 30 eggs for an omelet.

but, yippee!

 lots of work went into this egg.
and, not just from the mama hen.

addendum:  oh, you can't tell from the picture because I
put a wash over it.  but, the egg is pink.  a very pale pink.
so, i've narrowed it down to one of the four "easter eggers."
